Meet Shelby
Journey Within

My life hasn’t followed a straight line, and I’m grateful that it didn’t.
There have been beautiful seasons, difficult seasons, and moments that changed me in ways I never expected. Every part of the journey has taught me something, about strength, grace, forgiveness, and what it truly means to begin again.
I’ve learned that healing isn’t about pretending the difficult parts of our lives never happened. It isn’t about erasing the past or becoming someone untouched by pain. It’s about learning to carry our experiences differently, discovering who we are underneath them, and realizing that what happened before does not get to decide what happens next.
Healing can be quiet. Sometimes it looks like getting through one difficult day. Sometimes it means setting a boundary, asking for help, forgiving yourself, or simply choosing not to give up. Progress doesn’t always arrive in giant, life-changing moments. More often, it grows through small decisions we make again and again.
Yoga became part of that journey for me. Not because it magically fixed everything, but because it gave me a place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with myself. It taught me to listen to my body, become more present, and meet myself with patience instead of judgment. On the mat, I began to understand that strength and softness can exist together, and that starting over is not failure.
I didn’t create this space because I have everything figured out. I created it because I don’t. I created this space because I know how lonely grief, addiction, and recovery can feel. I cannot promise easy answers, but I can offer honesty, compassion, and a reminder that none of us should have to walk through the hardest parts of life alone.
Grief changed the shape of my life and forced me to face emotions I could not simply push aside. Yoga did not erase my grief or provide an easy answer. It gave me somewhere to breathe when everything felt too heavy. It helped me become present in my body, sit with difficult emotions, and take life one breath and one day at a time.
This is a place where I can share what I’ve learned, what I’m still learning, and the messy, beautiful, deeply human moments in between. I want to have honest conversations about healing, recovery, yoga, personal growth, and the courage it takes to keep moving forward when life doesn’t go according to plan.
Addiction may be part of our story, but it does not have to write the ending. No matter how many times you have fallen, how much time you believe you have lost, or how far away recovery may feel, your life still has value. There are people who would rather hear your truth than attend your funeral.
You do not have to fix everything today. You only have to take the next honest step. Tell someone you are struggling. Ask for help. Accept the hand reaching toward you, even if part of you believes you don’t deserve it—because you do.
Recovery is not always a straight line, and a setback does not erase every step you have already taken. As long as you are still here, there is still hope. Please stay. Your story is not over!
Most of all, I want anyone who finds this space to know that they are not alone. You do not have to have a perfect past, a perfect plan, or all the answers to begin building a different future. You are allowed to take your time. You are allowed to ask for help. You are allowed to become someone new without being ashamed of who you had to be to survive.
If something I share helps even one person feel understood, hopeful, or a little less alone, then this space has served its purpose.
Thank you for being here. Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here.

OUR MISSION
Our Commitment to Healing and Growth
At Consciously Aware, we strive to provide a nurturing environment for individuals seeking healing through yoga, mindfulness, and spiritual practices, empowering them to live consciously and authentically.
Founding Year
Consciously Aware was founded to create a safe haven for individuals seeking guidance and support on their recovery journeys through mindfulness and spiritual practices. Through honest blog posts, personal reflections, and lessons from my own journey, I hope to build a community where people can feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.
Community Expansion
As this community grows, I plan to bring that connection into the real world through live outdoor yoga classes. These gatherings will be a chance to step away from the noise, breathe fresh air, move without judgment, and connect with others in a peaceful and welcoming environment. You do not need to be flexible, experienced, or have everything figured out. You only need to arrive as you are
Online Workshops Launch
In the future, I also hope to offer online workshops for those who cannot attend in person. These workshops will explore yoga, mindfulness, healing, personal growth, and practical ways to create more peace and balance in everyday life. My goal is to make this community accessible wherever you are and give you tools you can carry beyond the screen
